After thanking the spirit healer profusely I decide to replace my second dagger having left it buried deep in the back of some stupid paladin in gold armor. GOLDEN ARMOR!!! Who wears something like that??? Your basically asking any rogue worth his salt to stab you repeatedly like the self righteous twit you are!! Taking a deep breath I refocus on the task at hand, after purchasing a generic dagger from the local blacksmith I set off toward the manor once more. Upon arriving I wave a greeting toward that shady fellow on the roof who appears to be struggling to get his fat-ass down the chimney. Then walking over to the window with a perfect adventurer shaped hole in it I stop and ponder for a moment remembering a past mishap I grab a chunk of wood from the nearby pile and throw it rather violently through the window left of mine fully expecting it to trigger a trap of some sort when nothing overtly malicious happens I hop into the window I had previously introduced my face too seeing a rather sparse kitchen with a fetching indent of some handsome soul on the far wall I check the cabinet and decide to help myself to a half loaf of bread, a rogue must eat after all and this house has been abandoned for a long while so I know I am not stealing some families last bit of food. I justify it as revenge against the house it has killed me once already after all "Take that!!" I declare "You take my life well then I..shall take your bread!! Muahahah!! have at you!!!" I take a large bite of the bread then rear my leg back and deliver an ill thought out kick to the wall which causes me to stub my toe as I hop around on one foot cursing the house a small part of me feels it was totally worth it.
You thank the spirit healer for reviving you and buy another dagger, after having your last one buried deep in the back of some paladin with golden armor.
You are sure, this guy was only wearing it for showing how mighty he is to everyone in the whole town, but not anymore!
After dealing with this jerk and equiped with an awesome new generic dagger, you return to the house, seeing that the adventurer with the fat ass is still standing at the same spot where he was standing when you jumped into the window.
However, you don't allow yourself to get distracted and take one piece of wood to throw it into a window next to yours, when nothing happens.
Thinking that it is actually kind of sad not to get the satisfaction of triggering a trap with your piece of wood, you slowly climp into the window, which is very easy now that you already got a perfect man-siced hole in it, finding yourself in the kitchen with your twisted and smashed body laying in front of the wall at the other end.
As there seems to be nothing special on first sight, you start checking the cabinets first fully expecting to find dust and some webs and nothing else.
But whats that? A good piece of bread? Actually, thats not too bad as you are pretty hungry from your previous sprint and still haven't regained all your power after being revived.
After satisfying yourself by laughing at the house and kicking against the wall with your foot, hurting your toe it it's now up to you if you want to check out the rest of the kitchen, as there are several cabinets, shelfs and draws left, or if you want to take one of the doors to go into another part of the house, but be aware, the house is by no means abandoned and you might also find some of its previous owners on your journey.
There is a door on the left side, which could lead into the room with the window you threw the piece of wood into, one door just next to your smashed body and one door on the right side of the ktichen.
Though I hesitate a few minutes and ponder the mysteries inside the house, I can't help but explore the wooden shed. (If something gets me, all my Dayz humanity goes to Skynet and Bloody).
Standing in the middle of the graveyard, you ponder if it is already time to check out the main house or if you want to check the surroundings first.
You can't see any good entrance into the house from where you are standing now because some trees and bushes are blocking the direct view, so you decide to start "small" and head to the shed on the right side.
On your way to the shed, you try to read the names on the gravestones but it seems like the weather has already made most of them unreadable, however you come across one which seems to be in a pretty good condition.
Here rests Kha'thun, beloved husband, father, friend and extraordinary magician. The rest of it has too many breaks in it, so you are not sure what to think about this yet, as the only words you could read after the first sentence were
evil always remember.
Still thinking about the words on the gravestone, you arrive in front of the shed just to find that the door is locked from the outside and has a wooden sign hanging on it.
Don't open!Great..., who writes a sign saying "Don't open" but locks the door from the outside, thats really smart...
It's now up to you if you want to find out why someone doesn't want people to enter the shed or maybe doesn't want something to leave it.
I am going to do my damnedest to not meta-game, Travis!
Equipped with only a shortsword, small crossbow, and sundry adventuring supplies in a small pack, I search for a window that is accessible from the outside of the structure on the ground floor. Were I to find one, I would do what I could to secure this window behind me.
(Guess there is too much rng for meta-gaming here Del, however good luck trying!)
After hearing about other adventurers who started looting the house, or at least tried, you decide that you can't just pass on this chance of finding some nice treasures.
After setting yourself up, you travel to the house and start looking for a window on the ground floor, easy enough to defend against anything that comes and just as you enter the front yard, you already see two windows with broken glass to your left, next to the front door and a pile of wood, leading up to a window on the second floor. One of them looks like some crazy man tried to jump into it or maybe tried to escape the house, but you don't really want to know, so you decide to go for the far left one with more natural looking broken glass.
While walking towards the window, you realize that there is a person standing in front of a pipe leading up to the gutter and the roof but getting no response after waving to him, you just continue your plan and climp carefully trough the window.
You find yourself in what seems like a dining room when you suddenly hear something hitting against wood in the room next to you.
Frightened by the fact that this sounded like there must be something just behind the door leading into the room with the noise, you can now decide if you want to check it out immediately or if you want to search and secure the dining room first.
There is a really big table which fits at least 20 persons around it, which is to your surprise, fully prepared with everything you would need for a big dinner.
There is a lot of silver cutlery, golden candlesticks and plates made of marmor which for sure would be worth some money, however it would take you a while to collect everything and its for sure not the greatest loot in the house.
There are also some medieval swords hanging at the right and the left wall and one big bear head hanging at the wall straight in front of you.
You could also just leave trough one of the other two doors located to your right and next to the bear head.
The choice is yours.
