First of all, hello, I'm Blair.

I've had DayZ/ArmA installed on my PC for a couple years but I've only recently started playing it. I really like the Epoch servers and the Beatnick server is great. I'm having fun and getting the hang of the game.

That out of the way: the rules say that any unlockable vehicle with gear in it has been claimed. And empty ones are free to claim. Just put hear in it and it's considered "claimed."

So just to be clear, if I find an unlockable (doesn't require keys?) and empty vehicle, through some loot in it and park it somewhere, it's mine to keep and won't despawn?

-Thanks.

After reading this, I realized that procedures concerning unlocked vehicles have changed but the rules as written have not. The rules have since been amended. I apologize and accept responsibility for any confusion this has caused.

For the time being, the only unlockable vehicle open to public use are the green Skoda cars that Del referred to. However, bear in mind that these cars are not ownable, not yours to destroy, and are meant to be used only until a player secures a better means of transportation. Buy a cargo truck or something as soon as you can afford it. DO NOT store your gear in the Skoda, hide it in the woods and log out, unless you plan to log immediately back in and reclaim it. An admin will find it, no matter how well hidden, and return it back to an area where it can be reused. I have relocated Skodas more than once with more than enough gear in them to buy a nice vehicle.

Please understand that the reason for creating and locating the cars as we do is to be able to more tightly control the number of vehicles on the server. It is all about the framerate and server efficiency and this benefits all players.

Thanks for your patience.

Wow, I really need to proofread my posts.

Thanks for the response. I bought a Hummer (that's what "she" said) this morning so I'm all set for now. Just thought I'd look out for another one.

If I could add something here. Donor vehicles are available to those that contribute to BnB. Talk to the admins for details on this. They have some cool perks.  The donations help in defraying the out of pocket costs of running the server and the TeamSpeak. These admins are awesome people and their intention of building a true community server is not cheap in terms of dollars or the amount of time they spend directly involved to make BnB a top rated server. If you love BNB like many of us do, if you found a good home in which to get your DayZ on, like many of us have, hitup Sandman, Hippi, Lyndsay or Del. Or just get in game and ask around.
