Got an idea!
« on: November 17, 2014, 03:26:51 AM »
i Got a good idea! I know alot will not like this but its a good way to make money and a good way to keep this from happening!
I want to start an impount lot! i want to build an impound lot somewhere around Starry or other traders that  only I and Selective people (including Admins) have access to. I have set together a policy list but will negotiate with players for a far list.

If vehicle is placed in Trader area for more then 48 hours = Impounded.
If vehicle is impounded for more then 2 weeks = Deleted/blown up or possible action for Cheap price. Don't know if admins will agree to unlocking the car and selling as is with key included.
To store  vehicle = 1bc for every 2 weeks.
To get vehicle back = 1BC.
To get one item, and only one item per vehicle from vehicle(this policy is inactive if only one item is in vehicle, or filled with very low marked priced items in vehicle EX: 1 chansaw, 20 bandages, 1 blood bag, toiltpaper, Magazines(Besides M2 or M134 mags), ect) will have to give impound attendant key  = 1 10oz gold
*Above policy is inactive if Impound release payment is in vehicle.*
No access inside lot unless Impound release has been paid for.
Vehicle will not leave Lot until verified that player owns said vehicle.
If player tries to tow another vehicle out, admin will be called for stealing.

~~~~For Impound attendants~~~~
All profits will go towards maintenance of Impound lot(s) First before being evenly divided among attendants.
There will be a safe in impound lot(s) and all attendants will know safe code and will be required to put money in safe after player has paid and left and locked right away.
Impound lot(s) will be AI/zombie safe(as long as doors are locked) from the inside of base.
Attendants will be required to lock doors ASAP.
Attendants will be able to leave lot as they please but will be called upon by players when convenient.
I would love to do this because i feel it kinda in forces the No parking in trader area rule. I know players wont like this but as long as u don't leave your vehicles in trader zone then its not a problem. My option but anything within ~200m should be impounded. I will fund this all my self untell it pays for it self. I will also build everything my self, will accept help too. im not sure how well this will work but i think its sure a good idea and always worth a shot! Please give me feedback!
I was recently informed by Keanu that there is already someone with this idea, unfortunately. Oh well! Thank you for reading
Yeah Jordan and Scott were doing this a couple months ago. Worked pretty well at first. Got a lot of unused cars off the server. We still TP cars left at the traders there from time to time. If you are missing a car you left at the trader, it might be in the impound lot if it wasn't deleted.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. As you know, we tried this before. While this is a good way to reduce some of the unused vehicles on the server,  unfortunately it caused other problems as well. Getting the word out is not easy. A lot of players new to the server, which would be the bulk of the offenders, are confused when they log in and their vehicle with all they own in it are missing. Many leave and never return.  Many players figure it was too much hassle or the price was too high and just abandoned their vehicles and started again. Then there were the trolls that just couldn't resist destroying so many vehicles so close together and getting off on the chain reaction explosions.
One big problem was, since it was impossible to predict when a vehicle owner would log in, the lot would have to be tended pretty much 24/7 and nobody was willing to do that and it fell to the admins. In the end, it turned out to be simpler for the admins to move the vehicles from the trader left for more than a reset or two, or delete them after a while. If you are willing to devote the effort to manning the lot, then I guess we can give it another try, but be aware that tending the lot can get pretty old after a week or two it seems.
