Last night, I was on the server alone. While I was in the airport trader, I heard a loud explosion from the tarmac. I looked outside, and to my horror, Boonedawg's brand new Blackfoot just exploded for no reason. Boonedawg had logged off about 10 minutes earlier. He parked well inside the safe zone, undamaged.
About a week ago, Tygerbaum was driving his brand new antiair vehicle (I forget what its called) back from a mission. The vehicle was undamaged and was driving on a road. He was not near a military base, and never heard a rocket launch. He did not hit anything at all when suddenly his vehicle exploded.
Any idea what is causing these spontaneous combustion events? These were both super expensive vehicles and the loss is huge. It takes time to earn that back. We all know its a high risk environment and we take chances. Balancing the risk / reward is a big and fun part of the game. But there is just no way to plan around these inexplicable explosions. As you can imagine, its very disheartening to lose a high dollar vehicle this way.
I just wanted to see if others have had this happen. Sandman, I'm guessing that there's not much you can do about these random explosions, but I wanted you to be aware of them, just in case you can work some magic.
