Why I love Chenarus.
« on: October 31, 2016, 10:12:06 AM »
I don't know why, but I have always had a love for the Chernarus map, I have always gravitated back to it. I went back to the area where I was raised this weekend, the Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin. I was standing in my brothers yard looking out over the landscape and terrain and it hit me, not a sniper or a zombie but the realization, it reminds me of home...

same here, western pa looks the same, especially around Pittsburgh where a large eastern european community still exists, giving the area a Polish / Ukrainian sound and feel, add in the fact that modern walkers were born here: Night of the Living Dead = Butler PA; Dawn of the Dead = Monroeville; Day was Florida but the army insignia in the movie are 99th ARCOM HQ'd in Pittsburgh; Land of the Dead is Downtown Pittsburgh; Diary of the Dead starts at Pitt University and crosses PA towards Pilly (and visits an Amish farm much like my family's farm near Clearfield...

I also now feel nostalgic for Chenarus, I was riding my bike from near Berenzino to my farm and crossed country I know so well
laying low in a blood filled trench

Doc, I can assure you: we see it!  ;)
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.

That pic DOES look like Chenarus! I guess it reminds me of the country in Georgia where I grew up too. Makes since why our Epoch server makes us feel at home. Very nice pic Doc, thanks for sharing your story  :)
