ArmA II Epoch Client Files Needed
« on: May 31, 2016, 10:20:13 AM »
Hey All,

So I was thinking of checking the Epoch server out and recalled that some servers have a ton of mods.  I searched the forums but didn't seem to find a pinned topic listing the necessary files needed to access the server.  Can anyone help me out?

Off the bat I am re-installing after years...ArmAII, AOA and DayZ mod.  Anything else?

Thanks in advance, see you on the server!

Once you have A2, A2 OA installed, you'll want to run both so it can do it's initial setup. If you have the DLC, all of it should load besides the Czech Republic since you'll get an option to install that during your A2 OA install.

Next you'll need to get DayZ and DayZ Epoch through DayZ Launcher, which is practically the same as A3 Launcher. I'm not sure if the DayZ Mod on Steam will work, but you can try it out. But it might be better to download the mods through DayZ Launcher.

And that is pretty much it.

Thank you _Edge, the install went about as seamless as possible. I played a little this afternoon. One thing I get that I  didn't before...when I join using DZL, A pop up in steam lists the parameters and asks if I want to do that.

Do you or anyone else get this message? Is there a remedy?

Yeah, I get that message too. Back then you're able to load straight into the game. But I think the launcher parameter pop-up is a security measure to confirm that a mod is being used when using a third party launcher to run DayZ.

Not sure if there's a remedy, but you can try copying the the yellow greenish text of launch parameters (which I can't cause it won't let me) and paste them into the Launch Options when you right click onto Arma 2 OA's Properties.

In theory, that might bypass that message, but also negates the need for DayZ Launcher to launch Beatnik's.
