General Discussion / Just made an account

I usually skip this step, as I am not a forum fan ...
But I did it because, well, ... I like the server.
It's been fun playing here, though I feel jittery and paraniod over roaming AI. I have had a few bad runs of it starting out.
First time logging in, I was going to try to meet up with PosterNutbag ( he invited me to play here ) , I tried building a bike ... I played on overpoch before, and knew to use the toolbox, but I didn't know you had to "place" it like you would a wall or sandbag trap. Well, I moved and it teleported me 10k meters out in the ocean.
If I had remembered it could be done, I should have just restarted via the esc menu ... but like a dummy, ( and I hadn't ever used that feature before) I swim back. Swam for so long, I had dreams about it lol. By the time I get to shore, I am cold loosing blood. I eat my food , and when I started to warm up I gained a bit of blood back, enough my screen was muted, but not black and white anymore.
So now, I am worried about building a bike ... so on foot I go, headed north.
Now, if you are in the SW corner of no-mans land beach , it's a loooong ways on foot to just get to starry.
Then Poster said to meet him at NW Airfield instead of starry which was even further away.
Halfway to Stary ... I finally risk building the bike again. Hours have ticked down, and I'm not getting anywhere fast.
So, I take my time and figure out how to properly build the bike.
I saddle up, and take off a long pleasant ride north.
On the way in, I notice a grocery store, I'm out of food so I hop off the bike, and go in to scavange. No food spawned ... but I do hear a helio near my location.
I hear shots and was surprised to hear snaps at my feet. I was like, huh? Who
is shooting at me, I thought this was no PvP ... , I scan the windows move to the back room , closed the doors. A slow zed walked through the door ( it was still closed) I draw my pistol and fire dispatching the zed. This whole time, I hear that Helio and it's close. Then more shots, and more snaps, this time I am hit and hit bad. I bandage. I get hit again. Legs broken, and bleeding again. I take one step and pass out ... I was thinking , here I go , hours to get this far north , and I am dead.
When I revived, I bandaged quickly, moved to the corner away from the door ... more shots, more snaps at my feet ... the only reason I don't think I got hit was because I was in the use morphine animation.
Right after I revive and think I am going to make a run for it I crash ... and was worried re logging in was going to do something nasty to me. The only thing it did do was 86 that nasty chopper , that has x-ray vision, and concrete penetrating bullets.
So, I am low blood ... not enough food to have any regen.
My screen is black and white ... I'm in danger of passing out I'm that low.
So, I run out ... relieved my bike is still there. Going north, I ht a few barns along the way ... still no spawns. I got shot at by another helio, but it seems they have trouble "seeing you" if you hug a pine tree ... even with x-ray vision.
I was faster when I heard it approach this time, now aware AI run and guns in air assault that would make the 181 proud.
On ward I go after it finally leaves. I ride my bike into NWA area, bail off it and pass-out-run to the firehouse.
I then requested aid ... because there wasn't any food or no spawns in the firehouse, and there was a ton of zeds outside, and I was passing out frequently.
Aid came fast and very much appreciated. Finally seen PosterNutbag , and his bud , and I forget who gave me tuna, but I owe him alot.
So, now I got some blood, I agree to help loot for Poster , and his bud ... and other than my FPS dropping to almost nothing, causing some desync ... this went well for about 15 minutes.
Then my lagg/desync became an issue ... I kept loosing track of the two guys I was following , because I'd "teleport" back 200 meters every time I stopped.
It eased up a bit, when we finally got to the barracks, but I was still laggy. I dared go into one alone, to speed up the loot run ... I desynced right into two zeds, I open fired a full mag , but to me the zeds never had a hit mark show on them. The zeds beat me though, and I died.
Next spawn ... starts off better. I actually find some good gear right off the bat. I also went mostly by foot again up north, this time seeing sites such as green mountain, and some castle that I didn't see a name for.
I contact Poster , and we meet up at a designate place. All is well. he unloads his latest score at Stary, I check out what stary looked like here ( which is different from server to server I guess? ) Then He let sme re-outfit a bit from what he ha dleft over ... we book it up to NWA, looking for more.
We got chased by a UAV , shooting at us ... I got hit in the Ural, not bad enough to bleed , but lost half my blood ... this was before we got to Stary, an dI forgot that order of the event.
At NWA, I eat some meat , back to full blood or close enough ... and then my wife yaps at me about going somewhere right then, so I had to leave before we got to do anything.
Many hours later, I log back in. Poster messaged me , asked me where I was ... I told him where he dropped me off , I just logge dback on.
I hadn't checked my map this time ... and I started running to go around the wall to get to the airfield ... shost fire at me , and snap near me.
I nose dived into the dirt , backed up ...
I look at the map, and a AI yellow spot was right beside me ...
Apparently another survivor was already there engaging AI ... Poster showed up , and we all agreed to triple threat that area. The other survivor and Poster did well, I had too many trees between me and the AI to do much of anything.
Poster and I hop in i scar after it's clear ... but we don't get close to the crash site , fearing for mines. We run out to loot, the other survvor says "all clear, no mines"... agree to bring Poter's car up ... and I hear a shot and I'm down, passed out, 3 seconds later I am dead.
I see poster message the other survivor a AI Jeep had rolled up on us, and killed me. I never heard it ...
So , I respawn ... head north. Another AI helio, guns me down just as I hit the grass north of Elecktro.
So, now I'm on this guy.
I've done a bit better with him. Though, I kept crashing In Stary trying to use the merchants. ( and lost most what I had to sell, leaving me weaponless/moneyless, and no ammo for a looong time. )
But I footed it slowly and paranoid like a meth-head with 30 boxes of pills to loose up to NWA, and was able to make a few pick ups and sell outs in order to finally get a truck, and some decent gear.
Now, I'm kind of waiting on Poster again ... see if he wants to try doing some missions ...
But I might hop back in, and see about attacking a nearby AI camp.
That's my story though ... so far, lol.
