Hi to all...
I have Q.
I want to current reinstall Steam and with it reinstall Arma2 AO and DayZ-Epoch on other disc (new SSD).
Can I just install Steam and fresh install of Arma2AO and add-ons on that drive or i must cop-y paste some files from current instalation to keep all item and player on
Beatnik Epoch server ?
Please explain procedure of reinstallation if you can.
Thx...

I would just fresh install everything. In fact. I installed everything to my SSD.
The process how I installed everything was install Steam first. Then Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, then if you have the rest of the DLC, download that too.
After you have all those installed, run the games so they can load up the additional files it need for it's setup. Just running Arma 2 OA will load the majority of the files you need. But if you have the Czech Army DLC, you'll want to run that separately when launching Arma 2 OA. The setup process is separate from the other DLC.
Now that you have ran Arma 2 OA and it's good to go, I would download DayZ Launcher as it's the easiest and pretty efficient way to download mods and find good ol' Beatniks.
Once you have DayZ Launcher downloaded, find the Mods tab and download DayZ and DayZ Epoch, it'll take sometime but it will eventually get there.
After the mods have been downloaded, search for Beatniks and launch.
Then boom! You're back in the Epochalypse.

i just got machine back, re-loaded all of my games and went to play ARMA2 and join you all but i get an error message saying unknown link?
-
What are you using to launch DayZ? Through Arma 2? Or DayZ Launcher?
-
i tried dayz commander and the launcher
-
I believe Commander was discontinued, so Launcher is the better option. When you get that "unknown link" message, is that through DayZ Launcher/Commander? Or is it when the game loads up to the server?
-
when it tries to load up to the server, as it tries to connect i get an error saying unknown link, then as it tries to run it gives me the unknown link message says it cant find the addon folder
-
You might have to go into your Arma 2 directory and find which addon is causing the issue. I have no idea what could be causing that unknown link error. It could be an addon that is not even there. If that's the case, you can try deleting the addon folder and try reverifying cache integrity on Steam and reverify the Mods in DayZ Launcher.
If all else fails, I would delete all the files in Arma 2 OA, then start from scratch, redownloading everything.

forgot i had to log into game and get the opening cut screens to save the files. once i did that all seems to be working well - thanks edge
